Step into the driver’s seat of the 2024 Lexus RZ, where plush seats, premium interior materials, and a smooth ride epitomize the quiet luxury the brand is renowned for. However, the RZ marks a departure from the typical Lexus lineup as it debuts as the company’s first electric vehicle (EV). The range includes the 201-hp front-wheel-drive RZ300e and the 308-hp all-wheel-drive RZ450e, both equipped with advanced technology such as a responsive 14.0-inch touchscreen.
The RZ fits seamlessly among Lexus’s SUV offerings, yet there’s a notable caveat—the RZ450e falls short on driving range compared to most luxury electric crossovers. In our testing, it managed just 120 miles per charge, making it significantly less suited for long road trips compared to rivals like the BMW iX and Cadillac Lyriq, which boast over 300 miles per charge. On the other hand, the RZ300e provides a more competitive estimated range of up to 266 miles, offering a balance within the lineup.
